COMPAÑÍA CANARIA DE PIENSOS, S.A (CAPISA)

CAPISA is a leading company in the manufacture of livestock feeds in the Canary Islands. It is part of Grupo Capisa -together with another nine companies – and is dedicated essentially to the import and marketing of ingredients and the manufacture and sale of compound feeds for animals.

It was set up by a group of Canarian businessmen in 1964. It commenced its activity as a manufacturer one year later, subsequently expanding its activity to include the sale of ingredients.

In 1994, the Company had a new plant built with a higher production capacity and it is currently fitted with leading-edge machinery and technology both in production and quality systems. This means that it is now the only company in the sector in the Canary Islands with the ISO9001 Certificate.

CAPISA is a wholly Canarian company which has a staff of thirty-four specialists. Based in Gran Canaria, the Company has a wide network of distributors on other islands who bring their products and services to the customer.

CAPISA currently has the most important and modern factory in the Canary Islands for the manufacture of feeds, which enables CAPISA to produce between twenty-five and thirty tons an hour. In turn, the capacity of its horizontal storage facilities is of over 6,500 tons and reaches 5,600 tons in the vertical silos at the factory.

CAPISA’s main objective continues to be to offer top-quality services and products. Since it began its activity of manufacture of compound animal feeds and ingredients, it has given broad technical and health advice, through technicians and vets who are available to livestock farmers, in the formulation of their compound feeds, animal health and economic advice to make their business more profitable.
